Edpuzzle Tutorial

Last week one of the Assistant Principals at my school created a Professional Development PowerPoint presentation on formative assessments.  Tet staff was divided into two groups.  She presented to one group and I presented to the other group.  I found the presentation to be an excellent resource for teachers, as it included information on several on line tools to create monitoring and quick feedback on student understanding.  One of the tools was Edpuzzle.  Myself and many of the teachers really seemed to enjoy this tool.  This gave me the idea to create a tutorial for my VOLT class.  I think that many of the students in my course could benefit from using Edpuzzle.

It is a site that provides numerous videos, on a variety of topics.  It has vidoes posted by Edpuzzle, but also Khan Academy, TED Talks and Discovery, to name a few.

You take these previously made videos and customize them for your own use.  In the classroom they could be used for a flipped classroom, blended class, labs, homework or formative assessments, like I did.

My presentation touches on just the basics.  As it is a Google Classroom friendly tool, I made sure to make note of that in my video.

Here is the link to the video, which is posted through another new tool that I used, Screencastomatic:

Enjoy!
